Martin Gibbons created the topic: Plugin will not fire as expected
Hi,

I have installed the "Simple Content Disclaimer" plugin on a test website (XAMPP for Windows 1.8.3) and I have also tried it on the associated Cloud Access.net website but cannot get to fire/trigger as expected. I have followed the configuration as shown in the documentation on this site.

I'm using Joomla 3.3 (LTS)

I would like to use the plugin to allow club members acknowledge that they will familiarise themselves with the rules of the club as they login to the site for the first time.

Hi Martin,

Sorry for the delay in answering but with the pretty weather we decided to take the Harley up Mt St. Helens today. Do you have a test site live that I can view somewhere to see if I can troubleshoot what is going on. If you followed the documentation on this forum everything should be working as expected.

A quick note, if you are using Joomla 3.3 you should update to atleast 3.4.8 if you are not ready to fully migrate into Joomla 3.5 to fix some known security vulnerabilities in 3.3. Documentation on the fixes that 3.4.8 resolves can be found on the Joomla tracker website.

Now, you want to make sure that you have created a menu item that goes to your login page, or a menu item that goes to the page your users get redirected to once they have logged in. Assign the plugin to use that menu item and configure the remaining parameters.

You can also try setting the debug mode to enabled in the plugin to see the output if you are logged in as a super user on the front end.

Without seeing exactly what it is doing it will be a little hard for me to troubleshoot your issues further than that.

Thanks
Terry

Just to close out this support request the resolution was to release a new version of the plugin that allowed specifying whether or not the plugin should fire for bother registered users and guests. Version 1.0.1 of the plugin added this functionality.
